“Scree Crystals
and You”
A Handy Guide
from the Wizard’s Guild
If you are reading this handy
informative scroll, it is likely because you have encountered a scree crystal
and asked a Wizard about it. That was a
good thing you did – asking the Wizard.
Wizards know how to safely handle and work with scree, and if you do not
know how to do so, horrible mutations can occur.
Perhaps you were exposed to the crystal
for too long and are now a victim of its energy. There is no need for concern.
The Wizard Guild has created numerous special spells to return you to as
near normal as possible. Sometimes you
may get visions of places and people who are not real. Do not go with these people if they beckon
you to strange and yawning portals – but remember that they are not real and
you should not trust their words. No
amount of spellcraft can save your dirty, filthy soul if you ever once listen
to the dread whisperings of these Lost Ones.
Sometimes, scree exposure can make
you into something very powerful and otherworldly. That is because “the ways between worlds are weak here”. (See the
scroll “Elseworlds and You” for more
details.) It is a great burden to bear
being one of the Changed. The Guild can
help you in learning more about your abilities and how to use them for the
benefit and protection of all. You may
even qualify for duty as a Sentinel of the Art! Ask a recruiter from the Guild if this seems like the right
choice for you – doing your part makes us all feel good!
Once you find a scree crystal in the
wild, it is vital it be reported to the Guild before moonlight is allowed to
shine on it (this is really a danger mostly at night). Make sure to cover the crystal with a thick
cloth or other shelter from direct light until the Guild can arrive to take
charge of the find. Good preparedness
maximizes the reward for recovery as well as minimizes the possibility you will
be converted into a freakish mass by the Klagmot Demons that often live in
these crystals. Take care!
Remember, Purple is the Color of the
Guild!
Always report scree as soon as possible!
